it's time to nearly rise up once more as issue #4our of MoTHER [has words...] slides into production. yes, submissions are in & we are currently sifting through them & getting excited at what we find once we open up an attachment or two. & it's a broad mixed bag with a few more eastern state & international submissions than in the past, which is great & incredibly encouraging... especially with such a mega mix of a break under our belt.
so where have we been? well, the editor has been busy editting another zine called "COTTONMOUTH", which is the zine component of a narrative art adventure also called Cottonmouth, just without the caps locked. the zine is monthly too (it compliments the performances) hence the break - it's taken up a bit of time but finally has feet... & legs... & is even spawning an anthology, due out june slash july of this year.
that & our editor has also gotten a day job - yes, a 9ine to 5iver at OUTinPerth, a local lesbian and gay community newspaper for which he writes fashion, arts, music & some film interviews. so as you can imagine, such a foreign experience fills up his time. but he's back with mOther, making sure that in 2009ine it's bigger & brighter & shinier.
to help him out is an assistant editor plus a graphic designer. but more on them when the next issue comes out. which is soon... very soon.
in the meantime we can tell you that it'll feature:
- tomas ford as the featured sound
- troll as the featured street artist
- andrew nicholls as the featured visual artist
- & the antipoet as the featured poet
plus a host of other exciting talents... so stay tuned.
